Activities in Lom and Jotunheimen No place on earth is as relaxing as the mountain wilds, where you can experience all seasons at once. You can scan across “half the kingdom” and soak up fertile, inland nature and wild, mountain scenery. By car, you can reach the most famous fjords in the western part of Norway in just 1.5 hours.
Most of the 2000-metre-plus peaks in Norway are in fact in Jotunheimen – including the most famous, Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind. The many, impressive glaciers offer spectacular nature experiences, and the exciting canyons in Dumdalen will satisfy even the most adventuresome visitors. During peak season, there are guided glacier crossings on a daily basis, and local guides will take you on a variety of tours to exciting mountain peaks and canyons.
In autumn, Jotunheimen offers adventures in spectacularly colourful scenery. Peaceful mountain expanses are also very popular during winter. In the spring, when the nature awakens after a long winter’s hibernation, there is nothing that can compare to the mountains.
